How To Get Monetized On Youtube | Requirements
with another video and as you can probably tell from this video and the last two videos I posted being the apple car video and the
robin hood video you will notice that I probably have ads on those videos and if I do have ads on those videos that pretty much means I have been accepted into the youtube partnership program and that is 100
the case I have been accepted into the youtube partnership program
aka I am now monetized on youtube which is a
a huge thing so I can actually start making money from the videos I create so in this video I basically want to talk about the partnership program what you have to do to be a partner on youtube and make money on youtube my journey getting to the points I need to get to actually make that amount of money
how ads and everything work and basically everything in between so the whole nine yards so
let me not waste any more your time let's get right into the video to let's go
so you want to get monetized and make money on youtube just like me there are two requirements that you need to meet in order to do that the first requirement is to have 1 000 subscribers on your youtube channel so once you reach 1000 subscribers
you can put a check next to that box and the other thing you need to have is 4 000 watch hours within the past 365 days
or the past 12 months because let's just keep it simple here so 4 000 watch hours so basically that means
that people need to watch your content for 4 000 hours essentially that's literally all it means
watch your content for 4 000 hours so obviously if you make
i don't know if you make one video and somebody watches it or people watch it for 4 000 hours
then boom you got it most people don't get it from a single video but it is possible once you reach those two requirements then you can apply for the partnership program on youtube the youtube partnership program
the ypp you can apply right from the youtube studio application which you should be pretty familiar with if you're uploading youtube videos consistently or anything like that
regardless you'll apply from there and they'll tell you to make a google adsense account you make that google adsense account and once everything is said and done they'll go ahead and review your channel
this could take up to one month to review and depending on everything going on right now in the world
it could take even longer than that but they'll review your channel and if you get approved
then that's basically it you can start monetizing every single last video that you created
before the time and obviously monetize everything you have
going forward for my channel i can promise you this has been 100 a grind it may be easier or harder depending on what type of content you make but i would personally say try to make content that people can consume and enjoy like making gaming content a lot of gamers on youtube it's pretty it's pretty saturated market but hey if you're special if you think you got it then go ahead and make gaming videos or go ahead and make anything you want to make or you can make
content and they will consume it of something information wise like i do i provide you guys with a lot of information regarding personal finance and people tend to enjoy those videos if you provide people with a service or information or something like that people
generally like things like that they come to youtube to try to find things people come to youtube to look things up people come to youtube to check reviews people come to youtube for all different types of things
but all in all at the end of the day i would say make content that you enjoy making because if you don't enjoy making that content it's gonna be a lot harder for you to make that content and it might not be your best content that you could even put out
so make content that you want to make but also try to cater to your audience and make sure you're providing something to them
and then they'll probably like subscribe comment do all the good stuff they need to do
that's simple when i originally made my youtube channel back on july 20th 2019 i was pretty much set out to reach i think about 250 to a 500 subscribers within the first year after my first year on youtube or about a year on youtube so the end of 2019
i had a little bit over 300 subscribers i thought that was an achievement either way that first zero to 100 subscribers was definitely the hardest grind i've ever been through
as far as youtube goes and it was kind of stressful because i felt like i kept making videos i wasn't getting any views on them but i thought they were quality videos
i personally thought they were quality videos other people thought the same thing some people didn't but either way here we are now regardless you have to be consistent and you cannot expect to make money from youtube right away you can expect to make money from youtube if you work hard enough and get there but
right away maybe like in a month two months maybe even three months you might not be there you might not be anywhere near there and in my case
i was a whole year and i only had 300 subscribers i reached 1 000 subscribers on july 15
2020 so basically from january 20th to july 15th of the next year so basically over
a year and a half a year and a half to get to 1 000 subscribers
obviously you can get there in a month you can get there in three months you can get there and
i don't know a week it really depends on what type of content you're posting and if youtube even recommends it but i've seen it done i've seen it happen i've seen it happen firsthand so it's possible for you to do it you can get there even faster than me honestly i thought mine was a little bit longer but hey i'll take it i'll take it i'm there i'm here now that's all it really matters so
it took me about what a year and six seven months to get to
1 000 subscribers and i still need to reach that 4 000
watch hour mark once i reached that i could apply for my youtube partnership i reached my 4 000 watch hours and that same exact month i reached over 1 000 subscribers and that was july 29th so july 15th i reached 1 000 subscribers july 29th
i reached my 4 000 watch hours and right then and there
i applied to be a youtube partner and like i said before this process could take
over a month depending on the circumstances of the world basically everything that's going on
but guess what i got monetized in two days yes two days
i don't know how it goes i'm happy that youtube monetized me two days some people take up to a month some people take over a month
i don't know how i got monetized in two days i'm not mad about it at all thank you youtube anybody there whoever reviewed my channel and just gave me monetization
two days later there i was so july 31st monetize on youtube that was literally
last week so last friday july 31st i was monetized on youtube so i could start making income from
every single one of my videos that i posted in the past and
every single one of my videos that i will be posting in the future my first video after receiving monetization on youtube was that robin hood portfolio update for the month of august
then i dropped the apple card video about two days ago and now i'm dropping this video today which is being recorded the day before
so overall don't really have really any income yet because i mean it's only been about a week and a half anyway but i definitely will update you guys with my income figures i will show how much i make on youtube
not in this video but in a future video so make sure you stay tuned make sure you subscribe
make sure you like i definitely will be showing that i have no issues showing that i talked about my salary and everything so i don't
do youtube full-time obviously if i could do youtube full-time promise you i really would but right now i'm working a full-time job so it's not the easiest to come out these videos but of course i will always try to promote these videos because i enjoy i enjoy making this content and you guys clearly enjoy as well because you got me to the point i'm at now and i'm beyond thankful for that now how can you follow in my footsteps and make money
just like me on youtube right now basically number one you got to make a youtube channel so if you already got a youtube channel
then you're already you want to step in after you make a youtube channel you got to make videos and obviously they have to be entertaining videos they have to be videos that people want to watch people want to click on the thumbnail has to be good thumbnails really do matter i didn't think thumbnails matter
like i did think i knew thumbnails mattered but i didn't think they mattered to the extent that they do like thumbnails
that is the first thing a person sees people will purposely not click your video because your thumbnail is ugly that is 100
fact i feel like we're all guilty of that anyway if somebody has just a popping thumbnail and you're going and looking at a hot topic on youtube you're probably gonna click the one that just looks
good it's just naturally that doesn't mean the video is any better the video could be the worst video in the world but you clicked on that video just because of the thumbnail so thumbnails are huge
making videos is huge obviously like i said before when you make videos you need to be consistent when you're making those videos last year i would say i took about a three week to a month break on youtube
i knew exactly what the channel was about i knew exactly what i was doing but i think i was just doing too much at the time and i was focused on a lot of different jobs at the time as well so i really just didn't have time to make youtube videos on top of going to work and going to school at the same time so
once all that stuff ended i had more time to obviously focus on youtube and here i am focusing more on youtube now now focus more on youtube i can make more videos i can make my production quality better
i hope you enjoy and overall it works out but consistency
is definitely key if you're younger than me personally i have to go to a nine to five every day you might not have to do that you might only have like to work five or six hours a day or you might not have to work at all because you're that young
that's perfectly fine that's amazing so that means you need to get started on youtube
you need to hop on that youtube grind and you need to bust out these videos every single week
i try to upload two times a week and those are usually tuesday and thursday every single week i've been pretty consistent with that schedule for about six to seven months now so i think that's a pretty solid bet
maybe even longer than that might have been like eight months now tuesday and thursday every tuesday and thursday i drop a video at least i might drop a video more i usually if i drop a video less than two
two videos a week then something has happened and i'll usually update that on my
well now i can update it on youtube which is pretty cool but i usually update that on my twitter or on my instagram so make sure you check those links out as well
down below so make a channel be entertaining or provide
information and be consistent if you can do all three of those things i think you'll be pretty golden
obviously there's more things that go into youtube as far as like camera equipment
audio equipment all that kind of stuff and if you want to know what camera and all kinds of stuff i use i made a video about it but
